A Lone Tree in Heather - Cannock Chase

Overnight the air cooled causing certain things to happen. I found myself shivering at 4:30 am (possibly because the duvet was wrapped around the other person I was sharing it with) so I had to get up to pull the windows shut.

It seemed a shame to waste the early wake up call so I headed up to Cannock Chase to see how the heather was doing.  Frustratingly there was more cloud than clear sky and this was the best of the colour.  The sun stayed resolutely behind the clouds until well after sunrise and by that time I'd decided breakfast was more important.
