Lecture
Good morning,
Mr. Cowbird,
you'd best be
moving on.
These berries
are for sparrows,
a fine and noble bird.
Let's talk about
your parenting
you're not
the nicest pairs
Perhaps it's just
the Mrs.
who garners
the worst rap.
She lays her eggs
at random
in other feathered nests.
Your overeating
fledges
sap strength and space
you see.
The birthrights
owed
those crowded there
get totally ignored.
You can't dazzle me
with glossy feathers
or winning
beaky ways.
I'm so really
not impressed.
Set up
a proper household
and learn to fed
your young.
Then maybe I can
welcome you
at feeder, field
and branch.
But now,
Mr. Cowbird
You really have to
go.
For the Record,
This day came in cool and clear, a bright November day. T's brother in law is cleaning out our gutters and an electrician is on the way some time this afternoon. We have a wet circuit from water flooding over the roof onto an outside light during Sandy. The gutters were packed with wet leaves, but it was a virtual waterfall event. We hoped the wires would dry themselves, but that seems not to be our luck.
