Peaceful

Is it lame if I say that today I felt really at peace with the world?

Two excellent lessons with classes I really enjoy teaching, who actually got what I was getting at. One class, which was fine. The afternoon was passed in the library. The picture is the secret staircase which leads to the library patrimone. The certainly don't want people to find it and for that reason it's nice and quiet. It's my dream library. Shelves from the floor to ceiling in old wood, with little desks, each with their own lamps. I passed a lovely couple of hours there reading George Sand, hopefully my essay topic if I ever arrive at anything to say about her.

Next, I went to La Vague. Wow, it was busy. But as time went on people left and eventually I was pretty much swimming on my own. 76 lengths acheived. That probably rectifies part of one of the cakes I've eaten recently!

On the way home I had that lovely calm feeling that you get after exercise. It was a crisp, cold, clear night and the lights on the cathedral looked lovely. I tried to take a picture but my camera didn't succeed. Even so, I felt really happy, and remembered by I'm enjoying my year abroad.
