DIY reflections

In spite of the fact that I feel like I've photographed sunsets to death, I really wanted to get a shot of the sunset behind this tree reflected off water, as viewed from the balcony outside my office.

After a bit of hunting around in the lab, I managed to find a tray and filled it with water using the tap in my office (not before I spilled some over my colleague Debra's coat - woopsie!)

Then, I set up the tray using stacks of post-it notes to make sure the water was level with the lip of the tray.

Then I knelt down and tried to get the best shot.

It wasn't easy and I got wet in the process, but I hope you like it!
