Oh, Happy Day!

They were a cheerful lot, the Victorians.
Here is an imposing sun dial in a local park inscribed with such proclamations as :
"Boast not thyself of to-morrow"
"First the Hour, Then the Day, Steals away"
but my favourite:
"For on thy eyelids is the shadow of death"
All very uplifting!!!!
