Our bed for tonight

Well what a fantabulous day we’ve had today.
Sis has a friend who moved down to Oxford to work at the Bodleian library so she decided an overnighted down in Oxford was in order. She had planned on us parking the car at a park and ride outside of Oxford (recommended by everyone!) but when we got there it was full already so we headed into the city centre - what a firking nightmare. Thankfully her pal came up trumps and we parked as visitors at the Bodleian.
The rest of the day was spent oooooing and ahhhhhhing at the AMAZING architecture of the various universities. We also went to see the Tolkien exhibition at the Main Bodleian.
This Erving we headed out to the Trout Inn where we had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time.
This view is the entrance t our bed for the night. Student halls of residence at Wadham College- much more impressive facilities than when I was at Uni but still in halls that are hundreds of years old.

The college was founded by Dorothy Wadham (née Petre) in 1610,according to the wishes set out in the will of her husband Nicholas Wadham. Over four years, she gained royal and ecclesiastical support for the new college, negotiated the purchase of a site, appointed the West Country architect William Arnold, drew up the college statutes, and appointed the first warden, fellows, scholars, and cook. Although she never visited Oxford, she kept tight control of her new college and its finances until her death in 1618.
