Relationships: new and established

We had our weekly team huddle this morning. We welcomed Nicola McLaren who joined the team today as governance lead. And introduced her to Jackie McRae who celebrated one week with us as our new Partnership and Practice lead. The extra shows Nicola on the left; and Jackie on the right.

Exciting times. A recent court judgment - the ABC case - occupied Jackie in her first week. We welcomed it as strengthening siblings’ and other close family’s rights. Lots of issues, many of them operational, to resolve and clarify. But the fundamental importance of family and key relationships has been respected.

Our relationships with our co-partner in the hearings system - SCRA - were further strengthened at our 6 monthly meeting of the senior team: this time In Stirling.

Then a spot of keeping my own family relationships in good stead with an evening visit to my mother in North Berwick. It was a beautiful evening for a drive down the east coast. The sunset on the way back was also lovely. But the view of the sky over Berwick Law was so typical of the East Lothian skies.
