Monsoon

We had to go and collect the car insurance documents today, they weren't in the post afterall.  As it is fairly close to the mall that we use for our main shopping we decided to take the opportunity to call in there.  The weather was fine when we entered the mall.  We had a look around, bought ourselves some new t-shirts and then did the grocery shop.  We  were probably there for an hour and a half.  As we exited to the car park we got a shock, it wasn't just raining it was pouring.  The car park was flooding and we got soaked just getting to the car, my umbrella proved useless.  As we exited the car park we quickly realised that the main road was flooded as well.  We know  short cut home down a back road, however this road was totally flooded, with water lapping at the head lights of the car in front of us, a lady on a scooter broke down and had to push her scooter to the kerb.  We managed to turn round before we hit the deep water. Back on the main road the rest of the journey home was a slow one. In some places the water was spurting out of the gutters like mini fountains.    My photo shows the rain water swirling at the kerb side after a car had past through.  The extra is a shot of the wet road the time was approximately 2pm not 7pm.
