Black guillemot

A couple of weeks ago this black guillemot, or Tystie as they are known locally, was on the slip, looking a bit sorry for itself.  It stayed around for a few days, going for the odd swim and feeding, then settling back down on the slip.  It stayed for several days, then swam away.

At the end of last week it re-appeared on Mike's boat!  It is totally at home and hops off when Mike is on board, then is back in residence again by the time Mike is ashore!  We can watch it from the sitting room, and it is quite a character, strutting round the deck or snuggled down having a snooze!  He's a dapper little bird and we are getting quite attached to him!
