Day out

I went to Dublin Horse Show, the annual day out with my friend Fiona, for another very light hearted day, we even let the train & taxis take the strain. She judges at show jumping competitions at a local Equestrian Arena, the guy who owns it invited us up to the hospitality box that overlooks the main arena, so you can watch the international competitions. & very nice it was too. While we were there some of the International riders were there mixing with owners & associates.  A hero of mine, Nick Skelton (Gold medal winner in Rio in 2012 on Big Star) was there with his partner Laura Kraut, I didn’t have the brass neck (unlike another lady) to go up & ask for my photo to be taken with him as I considered it too intrusive, instead Fiona took the extra, with Nick in the background (mind you he doesn’t look too enamoured). Eddie Macken & Billy Twomey were also in the hospitality box, Fiona call it mixing with the rich & famous & jolly nice it was too!
Lots of lovely horses in the showing & performance classes & of course the show jumping classes. This one was in the young eventers 3 year class & trying to eat anything she shouldn’t have! I must look at the results later.
