Long Lived

Proper rain finally arrived, hung around all day and turned the taps on full this afternoon.  Hurrah!!   This Verbascum has responded by opening a few last flowers.  It's one of the oldest plants in the garden, raised from seed I collected in the Pyrenees twenty two years ago.  Something of a giant at six feet tall, it looks a little out of place among my other alpine plants but it's still a beauty and it does have a mountain pedigree.

A day of appointments with a couple of shopping stops added in.  Out of the house for almost seven hours in three trips out.  Jamie had two hospital appointments in quick succession, we hit lucky with the second one.  Arriving half an hour early, we were seen and out and on our way home before the official appointment time!
