Day 93 - The final day break
Ok, so this photograph was actually taken on our walk yesterday so I am breaking the rules slightly. My bad.
Today I woke up with a cracking headache! Apparently I was talking and making strange noises in my sleep so I obviously banged my head too!...
I decided instead of lugging around a seriously heavy suitcase that I would get rid of a few items that I no longer use and post them home. As I will be flying home in the end I definitely think I was over my 20Kg allowance!
I purchased a large DHL box from the post office and rammed it full of anything and everything I didn't need (Including 4 pairs of shoes!!!)... The box came to 7.2Kg!!!! Costing 22 Euros to post home which considering the value of the contents (My timberlands... Tommy H Jeans...) I think I did a pretty good job of cramming as much in the box as possible!... Can't believe I was carting round 7.2Kg's of stuff I have no intention of using and have hardly used in weeks...
I went and had a yum crepe on my way back from the post office before heading back to the hostel to sleep as my headache still hadn't disappeared. I ended up in the swimming pool which I had to myself for the best part of an hour with the odd person come in and out which was really cool. I met some cool and random people throughout my little afternoon relaxation between the pool and the sauna... One man deciding it would be smart to chuck the whole bucket of water into the sauna steamer... Ooooft!!! It was amazing!! But I didn't last longer than two minutes before I had to dive back into the pool.
This photo is at the famous Jewish memorial up near The Bradenburg Gates in Berlin. It is a magnificent sight. Very interesting how the whole point of the size of all of the blocks is completely random and that there is no justification to it at all. A nice link to the sheer amount of lives lost. I have to say I did appreciated and feel for the memorial as well as the one across the road, the homosexual memorial which is another block in the ground slightly squint with a video playing inside it on a small screen with shots of two male or two females kissing.
This is a video Declan filmed of us walking through the memorial. It shows the sheer scale of the place!... I was being a little silly...
