The inside of the sails
We went to see the Australia Ballet at the Opera House this evening. After our tour yesterday we were so excited to come and see a production. We managed to get some fantastic seats right in the centre of the stalls towards the front and watched as the Australian Ballet performed a production called Icons. Three ballets formed back to back. We had a lovely dinner at the Quay side with a bottle of champagne before heading over. We had 3 hours of wonderful entertainment and fireworks over the harbour at the intervals before hitting the Opera House bar for cocktails. The bats were still circling over the harbour bridge, I wonder why they have such a preference for the bridge? I must find this out!
p.s. this photo is of the concrete structures forming the sails of the Opera House, they can be viewed from inside the building at most corners. The internal structure of the building does not contact the walls at all and so these sweeping structures go right up to the eaves. Essentially it is a building within a building. All done for acoustics apparently.
