Aira Force
Monday
Our daughter Laura had been spending the weekend with friends in the London area, so this morning we met up with her at a railway station, to avoid us driving further into the city at rush hour, then headed north to the Lake District. It was a long tedious journey, with so many roadworks - although we rarely saw anyone actually working (!) - so it was almost 4pm when we reached our accommodation - a country inn near Pooley Bridge on Ullswater. We checked in, and left our bags, then went for a short drive, and then a walk to Aria Force waterfall. Laura had injured her foot a couple of weeks ago, while in the country of Georgia, but is now able to walk, though at a slower pace than usual, and nothing too strenuous yet. I had planned on posting a photograph of her with her Dad, near the falls, but unfortunately when I saw it on my iPad, I could see it wasn’t a good photograph - they were both a bit out of focus, so instead, it is a picture of the Falls themselves. We had read very good reviews of the food at the inn when we booked it, and we certainly weren’t disappointed - we had a wonderful dinner, before turning in fairly early - why does sitting in a car most of the day make you so tired?
I shan’t have much time for visiting your journals, or replying to comments over the next several weeks, but I really appreciate those who are checking in with my irregular posting!
