FRONT OR BACK

Is this the front or back end of a black woolly caterpillar? 
Whatever the answer, it's not attractive.
He has a couple of longer hairs this end which are also interesting. 
I spotted him in the garden this morning.
Another beautiful day with an expected max of 21C.

MrD is baking a cake and he has just taken off to the shop for the third time to buy yet another ingredient for it.  Expensive cake, one might say.
The new parents may visit this afternoon - I won't be holding my breath.
