Biggest stripper in the UK

Although the technology of stripping the heads of the barley without cutting any stalks is not new, this head, at 42ft wide, is supposedly the largest one operating in the UK.  Noticeably quieter than the traditional combine it uses much less fuel and the stalks are all left standing (can't see the difference between the unharvested and the harvested crop until just a couple fo metres away).  Less organic matter taken away: will be interesting to see how it gets re-incoprorated into the soil over the next 6-9 months.  The next crop was drilled just a couple of days later.
