The Day before the wedding
A wonderful outing in the mountains had been organized on the day before the wedding. We took a cog-wheel train on the way up and then walked down to a restaurant in the Hamlet of Findeln above Zermatt. We were at an altitude of 2051metres.
Several decorated tables were waiting for us on an outside terrace facing the Matterhorn very slightly shrouded in passing clouds. The meal was delicious, the company great fun and we even saw some Alpine Marmots fattening themselves up for the winter!
The collage shows my daughter-in-law and me with a glacier in the background and the winding road back down to Zermatt. It took us about an hour and a quarter. My legs really felt the muscular exertion afterwards and for several days afterwards!
It was a fabulous outing in great company! The weather was really kind to us!
