Grass Snake
It was still hot, but a little fresher today and we went to the Naturum at Tåkern. Tåkern is one of the most important sites for birds in northern Europe with thousands of birds breeding there and using it as a staging post on their migrations in the spring and autumn. We saw many familiar birds but also saw a Marsh Harrier out hunting and a Sea Eagle sitting on a rock. However, much more exciting was seeing a Grass Snake. The main blip is a really close view and the extra as it swam away; judging by the patterns in the mud this is a familiar hunting route.
