Supping
Damp again today, so an ideal opportunity to write up all my records from yesterday, as well as from the visit to Swindon on Wednesday. I think I've finally thrown off this bug and have felt a lot more like my usual self today.
The Verbena bonariensis we bought on Friday is already attracting insects, particularly Small and Green-veined Whites. This is one of only two photographs I took during the course of the day - and I only just managed to catch this butterfly before it took off. If you look closely you can see that the fore-wings are already beginning to flap, though the hind wings are still. I think that the photobombing hoverfly may have been the cause of its exit!
