Purple prose.....and cons.

Many poems and songs have been written about our beautiful green, mauve and lilac-hued heather.....it covers the hills and moors of Scotland like a magnificent tartan travel rug.

But when they ask me 'will ye go, lassie go?', I'm afraid the answer's a very definite no. From what I saw today, the heather's absolutely teeming with irritable adders, spiders as big as your hand, and more ticks than a roomful of grandfather clocks.....

It's a jungle out there!!
