La capital

I met up with Robin and Kate in London as they left Cambridge a few months ago, and I miss them. There's always much hilarity to dwell on, largely centring on the time when we were all in Cambodia. We plodded around the capital all day, following the Thames up both north and south banks. We refreshed with cider at Covent Garden where it was rainy but the ambience was fun. Service at very touristy venues is dire as they know they don't even have to try and they'll still make a mint.

We rounded up with a spot of shopping. Robin has thick feet, so it was an effort seeking shoes where he didn't bulge out of the sides. Mission accomplished and we rewarded ourselves with ice cream and gin.

I hadn't been to London for a while and it was good feeling that dynamic vibe that it possesses. The picture is from a Latino food festival on the grass next to Tower Bridge.
