Tachinidae.

They are definitely not mating. One could be eating.

I'm feeling wrecked. After not much sleep I went to Christchurch for my groceries. Tomorrow is a public holiday here in Canterbury. I was going to go yesterday, but I learned that the power was to be off today, while line maintenance was done. It was a cold, gloomy day, and I didn't take many photos.
