Whitby Abbey

We have travelled on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby, steam hailed.

Interesting journey this morning as the locomotive had braking problems and part way through the journey was declared not FTR (fit to run). A replacement loco soon arrived and we we only 25 minutes late.

Whitby has been full of people as it it is Regatta day. Unfortunately the mist descended so the famous Abbey was not quite the image Ihad hoped for.
