Silly Saturday ....

A few weeks ago I had read in the paper about a park that's nearby that used to be used as a religious retreat .... complete with an open air chapel and cottages. The chapel has a ceiling to keep out the elements but it has no walls. The article also said that there was a lot of wildlife on the property .... so today we checked it out!

Today the property still has the chapel and cottages but is no longer a retreat.  Although in order to purchase a cottage you must be affiliated with the church and there are still services every week during the summer months. 

On the way over to Waldheim Park there was a torrential downpour that slowed up traffic!  But we finally made it to the park and drove around looking for wildlife and at the quaint cottages.  The rain held off long enough for us to walk the short distance to the chapel ... it was very nice but hard to photograph on such a grey day. 

We didn't stay very long as the thunder was rumbling in the background and we wanted to make it home before the sky opened up again.  I have added an extra of a truck going through a huge puddle! 

My main picture was taken on the way to the park.  There are several silly aspects to this picture.  I didn't realize it until I was looking at my uploaded pictures that the bride (we can only assume!) was changing the diaper on a baby on the trunk (boot!) of the car .... silly #1.  This was in the parking lot of a gas station .... silly #2.  Her dress doesn't seem to fit properly ..... silly #3. And if you look close enough you can see that not only is the groom (again as assumption) wearing sneakers but he has not taken out the basting tacks on the tails of his jacket .... silly #4!!
