Adventures in Speyside

Homeschool practical

We are bathed in beautiful autumn sunshine today.

There was a clear sky last night. One of the beauties of living in such a rural location is the lack of light pollution. Not only are individual stars brilliant in their illumination, but the Milky Way galaxy* is clearly visible with the naked eye right across the night sky.

After maths and science, Fin and I decided on a bit of a practical lesson - preparing the pheasant.

A real pleasure standing side by side with my son doing this!

Coq au vin 'pheasant style' for dinner.

*astronomy is not my strong point. I stand corrected if mistaken.
