Pop’s & I walked to Sandsend today. 10 miles of coastal walking including a hideous climb out of Runswick Bay. I’ve said it before but it bares repeating, this bay is as pretty as our country can offer.

Eventually we fell into Sandsend & walked round to The Hart to wait for the X4 bus from Middlesbrough to Whitby. Marvellous really.

The old town of Whitby was as expected - rammed. We took refuge, as we always do, in the excellent bookshop on Church Street and bought two albums - one by a Mr Davis & the other by a Miss Marling.
