Caledonian Soul

A few weeks ago I read about then heard Blue Rose Code playing a Blue Nile cover then saw they/he was playing at the festival, with guests, playing some classic Scottish pop songs. It sounded interesting, guests included Eddi Reader, husband John Douglas (Trash Can Sinatras), Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), and Julie Fowlis, so we got tickets for tonight.

They performed 2 sets of songs, sometimes solo or with others, covering songs from The Blue Nile (twice), Aztec Camera, Van Morrison, Primal Scream, The Proclaimers, Annie Lennox, Edwyn Collins.. I am sure there was more... and then each singing some of their own songs... and how could they not end all that with Pick Up The Pieces!!

An entertaining evening with a great mix of Scottish music, so it was!
