Rafflesia Arnoldia

In Borneo. Apparently it is the largest flower in the world. This one is 78cm across.
They put their roots down into tree roots and only flower once every 2 to 3 years and the flower lasts 6 days.
This was growing in a wood 100 yards from the road and the local villagers were charging the equivalent of £6 each to go and see it. Given that it only flowers for 6 days and not annually and we are not likely to return to Borneo, it was worth it!!
