Once a year

The Edinburgh Festivals are in full swing and the Book Festival is presently occupying not just Charlotte Square but also , for the first time I think, part of George Street.

I dipped in today before Cabinet and it was even more vibrant than usual.  I am always struck, however, with how  this lovely space looks for the other 50 weeks of the year, and of course I have blipped it more than once walking past on my way to, or from, Bute House (which is my extra photo, seen from the square in the autumn)
