Obedient Plant
So named because it's flowers can be bent in any direction and they stay there. Also known as False Dragonhead for the fancied resemblance to a European plant by that name. This beautiful flower is native to North America and is in the mint family. They aren't really favored by most insects, although some bees and hummingbirds do like their nectar. They generally bloom for about a month and a half, starting mid summer, so I've been waiting for them to start doing their thing for the past couple of weeks. Tom & I drove over this morning to check them, and they've finally started their display. Worth waiting for, I think. (& I managed not to step in the water today!) :))
Thanks Miranda1008 for hosting WFW!
