Roots
I haven't been out today other than a short walk with Murdoch this morning, before the rain started. These roots cross the path in the woods and one has to be careful not to trip on them when they are covered with leaves in the autumn. The rain came down shortly after this and it was a good soaking for the garden.
It has been a busy day of boring chores - many loads of laundry done, dried and then ironed - packing is just about done, I am just helping Thomas with his and then I must cook supper and clear the fridge.
Adam and Jenni are flying back from Tokyo at the moment, the best ticket was to fly Finnish air to Helsinki and then to reconnect to London. They had the good fortune to be upgraded to business class on Finnish Air which Adam says was fantastic (they had free wifi so he was in communication throughout the flight), far better than British airways - mind you, just about everything is better than British airways these days.
Luke and Meriel get back from Vienna rather late tonight so he will have to unpack and pack before going to bed as it is an early start for us tomorrow.
Tomorrow my choice of photo should be infinitely better...we have a couple of days in Venice before boarding the boat on Sunday.
(And very sad to hear about the death of Aretha Franklin, she was one of a kind!)
