Applecross

So, we thought that we would take a drive over to this village, because it was supposed to be (and, to be fair, is) quite pretty, and the road over to it was described as breathtaking.

Well, it is the second highest road in the UK (I NEVER want to see the one that beat it), probably does have the spectacular views promised, if a huge mist hasn’t engulfed it, and was genuinely terrifying. Barely the width of a car, with huge drops on one side, and massive camper vans barrelling down the other way.

I certainly held my breath a few times.

We went back a much slower, longer way that involved no massive climbs.
