Little Harbour

A little bit of running round today and sitting in traffic jams. We had to drop in at Torbay Hospital but first needed to go to Paignton to collect something and it can take a while that way because there are a lot of roadworks even at this busy time of year. 

After that we cut through to avoid the delays and managed to find a parking place right by Paignton harbour. I took this panorama while Marian got us an ice cream. We sat by the harbour with it before moving on.

I've been aware of Aretha Franklin's failing health over the last few days and expecting the announcement of her death which came today. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you what a presence she's been and what a great soul voice she posessed. Even in a genre where there are a lot of great voices, none could surpass hers. She's been a big presence through much of my life and it certainly is now when that classic soul music is what our band performs. Rest peacefully, Queen of Soul.
