Sunset promenade
After 3 grey and dismal days, the cloud broke today and the sun reappeared. I had been down in Preston for a meeting, and came out to find a clear sky and silvery light. On the way back to the office, I made a short detour to Arnside to see the sun go down. The sky was still cloudy to the north, while the haze in the atmosphere was soaking up the brightness of the sun. For once I didn't have to worry about blinding myself.
These last few dreary days when the camera card was empty, and I had to raid the blip cupboard for backblips, an idea occurred to me. During the long days of June and July, I prefer to spend my evenings outside rather than hunched over a computer. Whereas at this time of the year, the long dark nights are ideally suited to blipping - the drawback is often that there is nothing worth sharing. So why not save the better blips from the summer and cheer up the long nights sorting them out and loading them up? It's brightened up my evenings this week.
A year ago, a similar sunset from a slightly different location.
