Penallta Colliery

About 11.30pm I was going just about to go to bed when checking the sky it was the clearest I've seen it for a long time - so I headed out for an early morning photograph.

The photo is of Penallta Colliery which opened in 1905 and closed in 1991.  The winding gear looks fabulous under the stars - a stunning clear night.

Today I collect the youngest daughter (she's expecting in December) from Newport Railway Station and visited my parents so she could have a catch up. It was good to see her.
