Choice for Today

Simba has realised there are several options for a comfy bed.  We have had to cover the sofas with throws and even then he manages to find another (uncovered) spot!  At least he is sitting on his own mat here, for the first time today.

A frustrating day with the weather forecast being completely wrong.  Patchy cloud (read thick black clouds) and light breeze (actually a gale force wind at times), but no mention of rain.  So I did three loads of washing and hung them out to dry.  The first load blew the whirligig over and landed on the ground (it's not been cemented in yet, but was weighed down with several bricks).  The second load got soaked by a heavy shower and ended up wetter than it went out and the third load (sheets) got caught on some bushes and had to be washed again!!  Grrr!

Another neighbour popped over to say hello, which was very nice of her and she realised we were busy so wouldn't come in this time.  They do seem a very considerate and friendly group so far.

I've added an Extra of the filled bookcase, though I'm not sure if that's the final version.  I'm missing several A4 files which are intended for the bottom shelf, but they must be in a box still unopened.  And there are pictures to go on the walls (lots of horses!) which haven't even come out of their packing, so I am not there yet, but getting closer:-)

Picked a few cooking apples from one of the many fruit trees and will be using them to make a crumble for our first visitors on Sunday, best friends L & A who helped us move in.  They will see a few changes to the house since their last visit and hope they like them.

I discovered that it's the fruit trees that are attracting the deer (their droppings nearby are the giveaway).  I am happy to share the fruit with them, but TJ has plans to build a fence high enough to prevent them jumping it as he is convinced they will decimate the plants.  If that was the case, why hasn't it happened already?  I feel "words" coming on:-)
