The Last Dance, Runrig, Stirling Castle
No image could possibly capture the Runrig concert tonight. That’s the last time we’ll ever see the band but their legacy and their music will live on for generations.
I’m writing up my journal stuck in the car park at 23.45 waiting, along with 1000s of others to get out; listening to Runrig on the iPlayer. I’ll let you know when we finally moved. (Edit: Saturday morning, we finally left at 00.15 - Last cars are probably just leaving) We had supplies in the car for after the concert. They were soon scoffed.
The weather was kind for us in Stirling, bit of drizzle, breezy with some sunshine as the evening progressed. Donnie Munro and his band played a supporting set performing some Runrig songs. He was followed by Julie Fowlis whose amazing voice was a treat.
Then it was time for the main event, Runrig were on stage without a break from 7.30pm til 10.50pm. And rather good it was too. No more can be said. Torn between which image to post, don’t know why but I plumped for the drummers, iconic of Runrig, rather than the image of their closing song
