Morgan Academy

Morgan Academy in Dundee was originally opened as Morgan Hospital in February 1868. Its founder, John Morgan, had left part of his fortune for the establishment in his native city of an institution for the support and education of poor children. 

In 1888 the building was purchased by Dundee School Board and in 1889 it became Morgan Academy, a fee-paying school providing primary and secondary education. The main building was destroyed by fire in March 2001 and reopened in August 2004. While the exterior was reinstated to its former glory, inside is a brand new school designed to meet the needs of modern education.
