Cooling Off

Blipping a day late for Friday....
We went for a hike around Monarch Lake today...well one of us did anyway.  Pipersdad, Piper, Becky and I turned back after two miles (half way) because people on the trail told us we were headed for steeper, rougher terrain and we were already tired.  Poor Darrin looked so disappointed that we told him to go on and meet us back at the car.  He stopped a couple of times to fish and was only a few minutes behind us getting back.  Ah, to be young and strong again!!  Piper decided to take a little dip along the way and almost pulled her dad in with her.  It was deeper than she expected and she started swimming away.  She's used to her long rope but she was only on her retractable leash so she didn't have too much leeway.  The first extra shows Becky and her dad on the trail and the second is a pretty spot along the way.  It was a beautiful hike!

On the way home Becky and Darrin stopped at the store to get dinner fixings.  They came back with rib steaks, potatoes, corn on the cob and salad and even shrimp cocktail for appetizers.  We ate until we were moaning then sat around the campfire being silly!  

I am grateful for the wonderful day we had together!
