'Aving A Laugh

Despite completing the preparation for one half of the attic, I've spared you a blip of that - apologies. Instead we headed out for a night at the Edinburgh Fringe. Mrs C had booked one show and we were going to wing the rest of the night. The show had got 4 stars (out of what I should have asked)  but we agreed the comedian was pretty poor... you win some you lose some. We even had to give away our place at bar queue just before in order to get in on time :-(

So afterwards we setup camp at Bristo Square, got a beer and a curry then a hotdog (eh?) while looking for the next show which I found as Abandoman, and there were still tickets! Abandoman is an improv (Irish) rap artist who takes cues from the audience then sings about them. He was fantastic and so quick and clever. We think we had seen him on TV before, and he was first at the Fringe in 2005. We left suitably entertained and had another beer while waiting for Ms H coming to pick us up to take us home (she was already in Edinburgh).

We've been going to the Fringe on and off for over 25 years and it has changed quite a bit.. the recent times we have been it's been just popping into a show before heading home, so it's the first time we've been out for a while. The Bristo/George Square area seems to have become centre now, with big areas for food and drink. £5.70 a pint of IP - eek! But the food stalls seem to be the biggest change and reminded us of the Green Man festival (which we are missing this year) with a good selection of quality food. Everything was contactless payment too... I kept all my cash, which means it doesn't cost me anything yeah?

Fun night...
