Boating on the Lake

Last day in New York. It’s been incredible. An absolute whirlwind tour; literally non-stop, but we managed to do EVERytHiNg we wanted to! Today we walked the High Line, took cabs to Central Park to boat on the lake, and had a final walk down Fifth Ave and Times Square. Without planning to, we happened upon American Girl Doll World, which Heidi had originally wanted to go to, but when asked the other day made it seem as though she’d changed her mind. Turned out she jumped at the chance to pop in, and it was completely worth it! She loved it and blew her savings on a doll, gym outfit and, in true Heidi style, a ‘care kit’ of crutches, casts and so on!!! Her beaming smile made my day!
From there we went to Juniors for cheesecake and sundaes, then picked up the car (a massive Ford Edge SUV) and hit the road!!!
300miles later, and we’re at hotel number two in Front Royal, Shenandoah for the night. We certainly made the most of our time in NY, but I’m definitely ready for a change of pace as our mountain adventures begin.
