South America is huge

I am not there but in Raleigh, North Carolina. I stopped by the science museum (which is great) and outside i saw this huge globe. It show how much of the globe is taken up by south america alone. It dominates one whole side and is from this perspective you cannot see anything else. Check it out on a globe.
It was great to see this. Having done a fair bit of travel myself, I am fascinated by geographic layout of the continents. Here you can clearly see the white of the salar de Uyuni in southern bolvia and the mighty amazon across the top.
An amazing continent full of amazing people.
