Demolition: the Holiday Inn

It was once 13 storeys high, with 149 rooms and conference facilities for 400 people. It had a $2.5 million refurbishment in 2009.

Now the Holiday Inn, in central Christchurch, is almost no more. It is another casualty of earthquake damage. It is being demolished by Twinkle Toes, the largest high-reach excavator in the Southern Hemisphere.
