Be in time...
..Or bee in thyme?
Today has been a mixed bag.
Of pleasant laziness and yesterdays crossword, and of heavy duty furniture moving.
We moved a large old linen press down a flight of stairs.
There was a moment where I feared we would both be crushed underneath and probably our skellingtons would be found mouldering some years hence. (Probably not entwined, owing to the words exchanged between us along the lines of, 'to me, to you, to me NOW').
I said to Himself (with a hint of panic) 'have you got your mobile in your pocket?', but that was at the point where the stairwell was completely cut off by weighty pine anyway.
We were quite smug in the end having used a big old rug to do some of the work by making a slide.
Thrice smug really. No 2 Smug (oo - weird sentence), having averted an Elderly One crisis (well, visit) by a) ascertaining what was meant by 'mobile phone', and b) what 'broken' implied. Sometimes 'mobile phone' means the landline you can walk around with... (I have sympathy, it's a New World out there, But I've been had before!).
And, it turns out, 'not working', meant switched off :-)
I'm Number 3 Smug by having applied aloe vera sap to a pretty painful burn on my hand yesterday (acquired from the oven, whilst removing nice cake), today there is little of the burn left to see.
I heartily recommend anyone (everyone) to use aloe vera on burns.
It really works miracles.
(Thank you lovely plant).
