See how guilty he looks!

A good bowling performance saw Horsforth Hall Park bowled out for 111. At one stage it looked like Forrest was going to carry his bat to a victory without even getting into double figures, such was the devastating power of Ben's bat at the other end. But Ben tried to hit one ball too many out of the ground and fell to a good catch on the long-on boundary. He made 64, putting on 82 for the first wicket with Forrest. The next three batsmen were then all dismissed for ducks leaving us 82-3 and conceiving the possibility of a defeat that was unimaginable just a few minutes earlier.

Forrest, playing the anchor role, eventually nicked off for 17 to leave us at 99-5, before a couple of boundaries restored calm in the camp. We were never really going to throw that one away. Forrest's dismissal was quite amusing in that the umpire didn't give what was a very obvious edge to the keeper. He stood his ground, as is expected these days. The fielding team were outraged, to the extent that they persuaded the umpire to consult with his square-leg colleague. They deliberated a while and then he was finally given out. It was a questionable process but Forrest couldn't really complain.
