Nothing to see here
One of my weekend cycling routes takes me over the M56. Giving you a great view of Daresbury and the surrouding countryside. It really does amaze me that there is such a beautiful area this close to this asphalt corridor, and only a 10 minute bike ride away.
I reached the overpass just as the sun started setting and decided to stop. I suddenly realised that we really had been lucky with the weather and had been spared the majority of the snowfall that the rest of the country was currently experiencing.
The images of abandoned cars or empty streets on the news reminds me of a snow clad apocalyptic zombie nightmare. Food shortages and even a lack of rock salt just shows how unprepared this country really is for any extreme weather.
It's getting really cold here in Appleton and I think tomorrow will see another dusting of the white stuff or a hard frost again as seen this morning. Thankfully it is doing wonders for the crate of beer I have in the back garden.
Have a good weekend!
