Wash Brook Bog
One of my 'go to' local places for morning photography. It's testament to the lack of rain that where I'm standing to take this photograph would normally be underwater. The silty bottom has dried out enough to take my weight and grass has started to grow. There is the smallest patch of water in the very centre of the original pool area in the distance.
The churned up area in the near distance is clearly from the red deer that roam the area and there are plenty of tracks coming from many directions to the pool. I imagine from some of the other images on Blipfoto that the males will be using the bog to 'dress' themselves up for the coming rut. We've still had precious little rain so far this summer, so it's hardly surprising the wet areas are drying out.
