Whale!

On our way into Aberdeen on a grey, calm morning.

I was just up on deck for some fresh air, watching the seals and birds and chatting to someone about how neither of us had ever seen whales despite being offshore for years.

Of course about 60 seconds later a huge black back heaved through the surface...

Over the course of the next hour at least seven whales (I'm guessing Minkes?) popped up as we trundled past Peterhead. Along with the seals, dolphins, porpoises and all sorts of birds the whole place seemed teeming with life.
