Canalside

The Canal area in Montreal. This is a tremendously bike friendly city and after lunch we hired bikes and cycled into Vieux Montreal and the old port area along this canal.
After the WW1 my grandmother and sister moved from Ayrshire to Toronto. She may well have come through the old port area in Montreal - I've no idea. she spent a year over here but didn't settle and moved back to Kilwinning where she married my grandfather. Her sister however stayed and my father has elderly cousins scattered about Canada. Most Scottish families will have similar stories.
