Alasdair Gray artwork at Hillhead Subway.

The Glasgow Subway was best described to me by a Geordie who had lived and worked in both Glasgow and London as being like a 'My First Tube'.

With it's one line, you've only got one choice: you either go clockwise or anti-clockwise. It's brilliantly simple and I challenge anyone to get lost on it.

I like the poem in the middle which reads:

Do not let daily to-ing and fro-ing,
To earn what we need to keep going,
Prevent what you once felt,
When wee, hopeful and free.

I'm not sure if the murals at the newly revamped Hillhead Subway are original A. Gray or stylised as his. Does anybody know?
